So much has happened yesterday with regards to the iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak. I managed to get it working but decided to downgrade back to 1.1.1 after reading that the unofficial hack breaks a bunch of features on the iPhone.
- iTunes Store previews don’t work with this method.
- The Google Maps “Locate Me” function will not work as well after applying this jailbreak. That’s because this method doesn’t upgrade the iPhone’s cell phone radio, meaning only Wi-Fi data will be used to estimate your current position.
- Most 3rd-party apps will be broken.
The good news is that the iPhone Dev Team will release an official jailbreak soon, followed by a Mac-friendly tool.
I’m pretty sure Apple will release another firmware update during the SDK launch so it’s a good idea to wait for now.
