Advertlets is an advertising network for blog/weblog in Asia, more specifically in Singapore and Malaysia. I chanced upon it while blog surfing and felt the ads placed were relevant and useful. Thus, I decided to sign up for it as well.
Since I had a good first impression of Advertlets, I wondered what kind of ads can I place on my blog. I really dig the new hybrid polling/advertising system which even allow comments on ads. With this feature, it’ll allow me to have a better understanding of my audience and what type of ads are of interest to them.
You might wonder how it would compare with other services such as the dominant Google Adsense and Text Link Ads. I believe the ads placed by Advertlets are more suited for my audience since most of them are from around the region. Furthermore, traditional text-based ads might be annoying to some as they can get in the way of the reader.
At the end of the day, I hope that Advertlets will provide decent ads for my audience. Using it for monetizing purposes is also on the agenda as I need to offset the cost of hosting.
One last thing, I have to admit the Advertlets Web site is really pretty. It doesn’t scrimp on the functional aspect either.
