Removing DRM from your iTunes Purchases
Monday, 19 May 2008

Media bought from the iTunes Store are encrypted with Apple’s DRM (called Fairplay) and therefore, you can only playback on up to 5 computers and on your iPod / iPhone. Requiem removes that DRM so your media can be played on non-Apple devices as well as removing the five computer limit imposed by Apple.
I’m not a fan of DRM but on the other hand, there isn’t a need to strip it personally as I play all my iTunes purchases on my Mac or iPhone.
To use it, just drag and drop your files onto the app and a new file will be duplicated in the same directory but this time, it’ll be DRM-free.
Note: Requiem is a Mac-only application.
