Apple released Mac OS X 10.5.3 today and I’m pleased to announce that my trusty old iBook survived the upgrade! Check out the release notes to see what’s new in this major update.

One feature that caught my attention was the ability to sync the contacts in my Address Book with Google Contacts. This is just great as I really hate manually keying in all the fields and it serves as a backup as well.

Sadly, this feature only works for iPhone / iPod Touch users. Oh really? Lifehacker has posted a tutorial on enabling this feature even if you do not own an iPhone. Do note that you are required to carry out a minor hack to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPod.plist.
