UK customers can get their hands on the iPhone from Nov 9. The iPhone is priced at £269, which is the original price when Apple signed with AT&T.
O2 will be Apple’s exclusive mobile partner in the UK with plans starting from £35-55. The plan includes unlimited data and customers will also have access to a network of 7,500 Wi-Fi hotspots when they sign up for one of the three iPhone plans.
The UK iPhone will be 2G and use the EDGE network and support Wi-Fi where available. No 3G which was a surprise to me as Steve felt it was a power hog and the chipset can cut battery life by 2-3 hours.

It seems that the iPhone will be released concurrently in Germany on Nov 9 as well. As expected, T-Mobile has won the exclusive rights to the iPhone in Germany. The iPhone will use T-Mobile’s EDGE network and will be Wi-Fi compatible, giving users the ability to connect to 8,600 T-Mobile HotSpots in Germany.
The 8GB model will cost euro 399 including V.A.T.
