Apple releases Logic Studio and Logic Express 8

The Apple store was down yesterday and it went online again with Apple releasing new versions of Logic Studio and Logic Express.

At the heart of Logic Studio is Logic Pro 8. It’s new features include:

  • Single-Window Design
  • Simplified Setup
  • Effortless multitake recording
  • Quick Swipe comping
  • New audio editing tools
  • Surround mixing and processing
  • Portable preferences
  • XSKey-free operation

Mainstage is a new application with a revolutionary interface designed to let you bring software instruments and effects to the stage.

Logic Studio will set you back US$499, with upgrades starting at US$199. Notice the price drop? Cool!

As for the little brother of Logic Studio, Logic Express includes a single-Window Design, effortless multitake recording, brand new audio editing tools, various new instruments including Ultrabeat and ES2, a simpified setup so you can dive straight in, quick swipe comping and portable preferences which are also found in Logic Pro 8 and finally, new audio effects.

With regards to it’s price, Logic Express 8 cost US$199 but previous owners can upgrade at US$99.
